SELESTIA AND SWIFT DEVELOP STARGATE CONNECTIVITY
3 January 2003
Sirius Financial Systems Plc and Selestia have
today announced a full connectivity service for Intermediaries. Using Sirius’
Stargate technology the new business and servicing process will be speeded up,
especially when using Swift’s intelligent workflow process, which allows
intermediaries to drive their own business.
Selestia the business solution for IFAs,
currently offers 336 investment funds exclusively to Intermediaries. Through a
suite of online tools, Selestia provides IFA’s with the ability to build
investment portfolios tailored to their client needs. These tools allow
Intermediaries to construct portfolios taking
into account investor risk, asset allocation and fund selection, as well as
providing a full and complete audit trail.
Utilising Swift, Intermediaries will be able to
move directly and securely to the Selestia service, whilst at the same time
taking and pre-populating the screen with data all ready stored.Passing data
to the Selestia service will
allow intermediaries to use the portfolio planning tools to create appropriate
portfolios taking into account investor risk, asset allocation and fund
selection. In addition, the end-to-end connectivity allows for not only
portfolio valuation data to be passed between the systems but also commission
data to enable efficient reconciliation and finally event notification to
ensure both systems are kept up-to-date.
The technology agreed upon to integrate the
Selestia service with Swift is the latest XML messaging and has been designed
to expand in the future as more and more services become available.
Bill Vasilieff, marketing director at Selestia
commented on the integration: “Working closely with IFA’s, we believe they are
the best people placed to assist investors in making informed choices about
investments. Integration of Selestia’s
tool suite with Swift will enable IFA’s to provide their clients with the
servicing and administrative support they demand.”
Ian Boswell, Product Manager for Swift, added:
“Integrating the Selestia offering with Swift gives our customers an unrivalled
range of facilities enabling them to provide an even better service to their
clients and improve administration efficiency within their business."

Notes to editors
Selestia is the brand name for Selestia Investments Limited and Selestia Life & Pensions Limited.
Both Selestia Investments Limited and Selestia Life & Pensions Limited are regulated by
the Financial Services Authority. They are both independently-managed arms of Old Mutual Plc.
Selestia takes a unique approach towards product provision, using state-of-the-art, investment
portfolio construction techniques. These were, until now, only available to large institutions such as
pension funds and insurance companies.
Rather than concentrating on individual products and wrappers, Selestia offers a highly
flexible system of tools through which IFAs can build portfolios carefully tailored to meet
clients' precise needs.
It is also the first UK provider to have agreed a collaborative venture with the world's leading
'manager of managers' investment group, SEI Investments.
Selestia offers a wide range of UK and international unit trusts, Oeics and collective investment
schemes, through its Collective Investment Account. It also offers a UK bond and distributes an
offshore bond. The offshore bond is issued by Old Mutual International (Guernsey) Limited, which is
regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
All Selestia's products (with the exception of the offshore bond) are available online, only through
registered UK independent financial advisers (IFAs).
